Masks and Puppets.
I love to create masks and puppets making when working with groups. The performance element is very exciting for children and I have often been commissioned to work in collaboration with theatre practitioners.
Lose the Litter.
Lose The Litter was a project funded by West Midlands Police Community Fund to raise the problems of littering within a community and how looking after your environment can reduce anti-social behaviour. I worked alongside fellow artist, Sian Macfarlane, to produce a series of animations, live action films and shadow puppets to raise the issue of littering. The ideas, props and actors came from three Wolverhampton Schools. The children involved reused ‘litter’ to create stage masks and props.
West Park
I worked in collaboration with drama practitioner, Lisa Harrison, to create masks with the children from West Park Primary. The masks were then used as part of a production of The Great Kapok Tree.
Aliens in the Library!
As part of a celebration of Wolverhampton libraries, I was commissioned to design and facilitate a workshop using paper and cardboard to create paper bag, alien masks.
